Abstract:
The present work includes chemical studies on the separation anddetermination of some metal ions (Cr, Y, Ti and Fe) from some industrial wastesolutions using solvent extraction technique. For this purpose, Alamine 336 andD2EHPA solvents were employed. All factors (pH, 01 A ratio, shaking timeetc ... ) affecting the extraction of metal ions from simulated synthetic liquor wereextensively investigated and then applied for wastes treatment. Before metal ionsextraction H2S04 acid solution was extracted (95.6%) using 40% Alamine336/kerosene from the synthetic liquor then stripped (97.2%) with hot water.from the studied metal ions Cr6+ species were firstly extracted using 2.5%Alamine 336 Ikerosene at pH; 0.5, O/A ratio; 2 and 5 min shaking time. About97.7 % from the extracted Cr6+ was stripped using 2% NaOH. it followed by V5+extraction (95.2%) using 10% Alamine 336 Ikerosene at pH; 2.5, OIA ratio; 2and 10 min shaking time. The loaded solvent was treated with 2% NaOH forstripping y5t- (97.6 %). Titanium (IY) species were extracted (98%) using 20%D2EHPA/kerosene at pH; 0.5, OIA ratio; 2 and 10 min shaking time. About97.1 % from the loaded Ti4+ was stripped using 5% Na2C03. Finally, pH of theremained working solution pH was re-increased to 2-3 before being subjected toFe3+ extraction (97.3%) using 10% D2EHPAlkerosene at an O/A ratio; 2 and 30min shaking time. The extracted Fe3+ was stripped using HCl acid.
