Abstract:
The mathematical formulation of numerous physical problems re-sults in di erential equations actually partial or ordinary di erential equa-tions. In our study we are interested in solutions of partial di erentialequations. The aim of this work is to calculate the concentrations of the pollution,by solving the atmospheric di usion equation (ADE) using di erent mathe-matical methods of solution. It is di cult to solve the general form of ADEanalytically ,so we use some assumptions to get its solution. The solutionsof it depend on the eddy di usivity profiles (k) and the wind speedu. Weuse some physical assumptions to simplify its formula and solve it.In the present work, we solve the ADE analytically in three dimensionsusing Green’s function method, Laplace transform method, normal modemethod and the separation of variables method. Also, we use ADM as a nu-merical method. Finally, comparisons are made with the results predictedby the previous methods and the observed data.ix.
