Abstract:
The River Nile is considered as one of the longest river among the world (6740 Km), it branched into two branches named Rosetta and Damietta. Rosetta branch starts at El Kanter El-Khyria and discharges its water in the Mediterranean Sea. The Nile is now t-There are many treatment methods for contaminated sites such as, precipitation, chemical oxidation or reduction, filtration, ion exchange and membrane technologies, have been used to get rid of the pollutants. Biological methods -bioremoval- such as bios-The present study carried out with the following objectives:I- Determination of some physico-chemical parameters of Rosetta branch water, seven water samples were collected bimonthly (from January to November 2003),three at Sobil drain area I,II and III ”agriculture waste” and four at Kaffr El-Zayat area IV,V,VI aII- Enumeration of the total count of actinomycetes (at 28-30°C) and bacteria at 22°C and 37 °C, and bacterial indicators of sewage pollution.III- Isolation and purification of bacterial isolates that tolerate and bioremediat the studied heavy metals (Cu, Fe and Zn).V- Study of some condition factors affecting heavy metal uptake.
