Abstract:
The studied Jurassic succession (Q-72-1 well) lies in the subsurface of the area located to the North of Cairo-Suez District at Lat. 30º 18’ 08” N and Long. 31º 50’ 10” E, the present study depends on 312 rock samples (cuttings) covered about 941 m thicknGenerally, the Jurassic succession in Q-72-1 well was differentiated into a number of rock units; there are Wadi El Natrun Formation (Lower Jurassic), Khatatba Formation (Lias - Bathonian) and Khalig El Ayoun Formation (Bathonian - Kimmeridgian). The presFrom the analysis of microfossils distribution charts, there are 10 microbiozones (6 foraminiferal biozones and 4 ostracod biozones) of the different studied microfossil groups were recognized throughout the whole Jurassic succession in the studied well.
