Abstract:
SUMMERY & CONCLUSIONSIn the present study, the well log data of twelve wells and seismic data of seventeen seismic sections in Kenz area have been used for studying the structural setting and reservoir parameters of some Cretaceous units. The results of seismic interpretation- The studied formations are controlled structurally by folding and faulting.- On top of Bahariya Formation, two anticlinal closures and a depression trending mainly NW-SE, NE-SW are dissected by a number of faults and blocking the formations into a number of grabens, horsts and step-like faults.- These structural features constitute the main structural traps characterizing Bahariya Formation in Kenz oil field.- It is recommended to drill the future wells in NW-SE direction, to avoid the dissection with the regional faults spreading through the study area.- Drilling activity must be avoided in or near the depocenter of the depression. The future drilling may be effective in the area between F3 and F4 and between F4 and F8, where they represent high areas and the area between F1 and F2, where Kenz-3x well w- The depicted anticline may represent a good location for drilling effective oil wells in west Khalda concession.- It is recommended to drill deeper wells to reach Alamein Formation in the SSW and SW direction of the study area. An anticlinal closure trending NE-SW is represented and merit of study. The different well logging data of twelve wells in Kenz oil field were used to study the different petrophysical parameters of Bahariya Formation. It includes total porosity, effective porosity, volume of shale, water saturation, calculation net pay, bulk
