Synthesis and Characterization of

Dioctyl sulfosuccinate was prepared by reaction of sulfosuccinic acid with octyl alcohol, where this compound could be used to manufacture of many different chemical compounds and it is commonly used in the industry, but its high krafft point + 6oC makes The chemical structures of the prepared surfactants were confirmed by FTIR and H1NMR spectroscopy.The surface tension of the sythesized surfactants was measured at 25, 35, 45 and 55oC, also the surface active properties were calculated, also thermodynamic micellization and adsorption of these surfactants were calculated.A series of surfactant and E(14)SMOSS, E(14)SMLSS E(14)SMCSS will chosen to form mixture with SDOSS with different molar ratios to form anionic - nonionic surfactants moities.
