STUDIES ON SOME METAL COMPLEXES OF NITRILOTRIACETATE

Nine new complexes [UO2(HNTA)(H2O)].3H2O, Na[UO2(NTA)].H2O, [ZrO(HNTA)(H2O)].3H2O, Na[ZrO(NTA)].H2O, [Ce(NTA)(H2O)2], [Ce(NTA)(OH)(H2O)].H2O, Na[Ce(NTA)(H2O)2].SO4.2H2O, [Ni(HNTA)-(H2O)] and Na[Ni(NTA)].4H2O were obtained during the reactions of UO22+, ZrNitrilotriacetic acid in three complexes which contain (HNTA) behaves as a tridentate ligands through two oxygen atoms of two carboxylate groups and a nitrogen atom but in which contain (NTA) acts as a tetradentate ligand and coordinates to metal ions thrFinally, In uranyl and cerium complexes are octahedral geometry structures but in zirconyl complexes are a square pyramidal structures and in nickel complexes are forming a square planer sphere around the nickel central atom.
