Abstract:
Liver is one of the most important parenchymatous organs in the body that plays an important role in body metabolism and in detoxification of many toxic materials. Alteration of the liver functions are mostly due to viral infection, parasitic infestation The pooled assays of many extracellular matrix components as markers for different liver diseases and the possible correlation between them have not been fully clarified. The present study aimed at the estimation of the extracellular matrix components andThe present study was conducted on adult male and female patients with chronic liver diseases. Control cases (adult males and females) were also included in the study since they were clinically and laboratory free form any disease especially chronic liverDetermination of routine liver function tests which including:: Serum levels of Alanine aminotransferase(ALT) and Aspartate aminotransferase (AST). Serum level alkaline phosphatase activity serum level total bilirubin serum level Albumin Serum level total protein Serum level globulin serum level prothrombin activityThe most important results of the present study are summarized as follows:1) Serum level of PIIINP was greatly increased in patients with different liver diseases reaching the highest level in patients with liver cirrhosis and pathology( LC, Mix ).2) Serum level of LP1 was increased paralleled to the severity of liver diseases reaching the highest level in patients with chronic active hepatitis and periportal fibrosis (PPF).3) Serum concentration of interluckin –12 was not significantly in patients with chronic hepatitis C virus (CPH),(CAH) respect to that of the control group.4) Serum alfa feto protein was increased in patients with chronic hepatitis C virus (CPH),(CAH) respect to that of the control group.5) Serum interferon- gamma ( IFN-γ) level was decreased in patients with chronic hepatitis C virus (CPH),(CAH) respect to that of the control group.6) Serum tumor necrosis factor – α ( TNF- α ) concentration was the highest in patients with chronic hepatitis C virus (CPH),(CAH) respect to that of the control group.7) Schistosomiasis antibodies was increased in all patients with liver disorders respect to that of the control group .The highest level was observed in patients with periportel fibrosis (PPF) .From the above-mentioned results it is observed that:1) The rate of collagen type III synthesis, as was reflected by serum PIIINP levels, and basement membrane formation, as was reflected by serum LP1 levels were increased with the increase of the severity of liver disease. This is mainly due to the transfo2) The infection with hepatitis C virus HCV can affect the humeral and cellular immunity through the disturbance of different immune cytokines including IFN-γ , IL-12 and TNF- α . Note only that but also ,it can affect the liver function , serum level of There is a significant difference in the SGPT and SGOT levels between the Patient group with chronic hepatitis C virus (CPH),(CAH) compared with healthy control group .- Found decrease in serum levels of albumin by increase incision of disease there significant decrease difference between patients with chronic hepatitis C virus (CPH),(CAH) than that patients with chronic liver diseases and the healthy control group.-Found increase serum level alkaline phosphates extremely significant difference between patients with chronic hepatitis C virus (CPH),(CAH) compared with the healthy control group.Statistical analysis showed that there was a significant increase in serum level concentration in patients with chronic hepatitis C virus (CPH),(CAH) than that the healthy control group.-Found decrease in serum level of total proteins in patients with chronic hepatitis C virus (CPH),(CAH) than that the healthy control group.-Statistical analysis showed that there was a not significant between plasma level prothrombin activity in patients with chronic hepatitis C virus (CPH),(CAH) compared with that the healthy control group. It is concluded that, the pooled assay of some extracellular matrix components, especially, PIIINP and LP1, as non invasive markers, can be used for the early and perfect diagnosis of liver diseases and in differentiating between the different pathologicaFinally, it is necessary to measure procollagen -aminoterminal peptied PIIINP levels in sera of patients with chronic liver diseases as a reflection of collagen type III deposition can reflect the severity of liver damage in patients with chronic liver di
